Virgil Andrew Regehr

Inman- Virgil Andrew Regehr was born to Curt T and Sarah Androes Regehr on April 2, 1926 on a farm southwest of Inman, Kansas. He passed to his eternal reward on November 26, 2013 at the Hospice House, Hutchinson with Marie, his wife of 67 years at his side and surrounded by the love of his family. He reached the age of 87 years. Virgil was a farmer, operated a service station, and retired from Cessna Fluid Power after 27 ½ year. While working at Cessna he started to plan and guide bus tours part time and started his own tour company, Heritage Tours. After 33 years and over 450 bus tours, he retired from the tour business. Virgil enjoyed collecting many different things but nothing was more enjoyable to him than collecting license plates and attending Tag meets. He was a member of the Inman Lions Club since 1985 and he was a faithful member of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church. Virgil married Marie Martens on October 20, 1946 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years and his children: Galen Dean (Pam) of McPherson; Gary Lynn (Joanne) of Inman, Barbara Jane (Jim) Reeves; and Betty Diane (Lowell) Schrag. There are 10 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren; two sisters: LaVera Neufeld, Bluffton, Ohio, and Arlene (Lewis) Schroeder, Inman; three step brothers, Alvin (Helen) Bergen, Augusta, Gerald (Ami) Bergen, Louisiana, Edgar (Ruth) Bergen, New York and one step sister, Jeanette (Joe) Walters, Hillsboro. Those that preceded him were his parents, two brothers, Bob Regehr and Henry Regehr, and a great grandson, Nicholas Regehr Parsons Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hoffnungsau Cemetery with a Celebration of Virgil’s Life Service at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman with Pastor Cleo Koop officiating. A lunch will follow the service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Buhler Mortuary, Buhler.
