Rosella Koehn Yoder Dyck

Rosella Koehn Yoder Dyck was born to Simon C. and Eva Unruh Koehn on August 28, 1930, Galva, Kansas. She passed away August 13, 2015, at Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, Kansas, at the age of 84. Rosella received her education at the Happy Hollow School. She grew up on the farm and worked together with her brothers and sisters. At a young age she gave her heart to the Lord. She was baptized March 27, 1941, by Min. Jonas B. Koehn at Lone Tree Church and remained faithful to the end. Rosella spent her youth and young adult years helping her brothers and sisters with their young families and working at a variety of places. She was married to Ura J. Yoder at Kidron, Ohio, February 19, 1961. God blessed Rosella with a love for Ura and his seven children, who ranged in age from two to thirteen and had lost their mother recently. She lovingly cared for them and they became her own. In 1971 Mother and Dad felt led to move to Brazil. In 1979 our parents moved back to the U.S. and settled in Georgia. In 1986 they moved to Ohio to the Homeworth Congregation, where our father, Ura J. Yoder, passed away May 15, 1989, after 28 years together, leaving Mother very lonely. On May 24, 1998, Mother married Jona Dyck of Moundridge, Kansas, where they resided until Jona passed away October 29, 2010, after twelve years together. Jona’s family especially appreciates that she was a loving and accepting mother and grandmother to them. In April of 2008, Mother became a resident of Moundridge Manor, where she resided until her passing. All her life, Mother wanted to do the Lord’s will. She had a generous heart and a thoughtful, kind disposition. It seemed her mission in life was to serve. She was always cheerful and encouraging to all of us, and we never heard her complain. We cherish her example to us as children and grandchildren. She gave herself unselfishly to both the Yoder and Dyck families. Mother knew her health was fading, and she faced this time with a quietness of heart and confidence and trust in God. The journey of her life has come to a close, and we feel assured she has entered into the joy and reward of the faithful. Left to mourn her passing are sons Paul Ray and Rachel Yoder, and James of Rio Verde, Goias, Brazil; and Lindomar and Monica Yoder of Fredonia, Kansas; daughters Mary Lee of Wooster, Ohio; Erma and Samuel Coblentz, of Palmas, Tocantins; Marlene and Dan Kramer of Boa Esperança, Mato Grosso; and Martha and Myron Kramer of Rio Verde, Goias; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren of the Yoder family; sons: Douglas Dyck of Hartley, Texas; Bruce and Sara of Fredericksburg, Ohio; and Ralph of Columbus, Mississippi; daughters: Carolyn Maynard of Green Valley, Arizona; Dolores and Gilbert Koehn of Moundridge, Kansas; Marie and Ronnie Jantz of Pecos, Texas; Wanetta Unruh of Farmington, Kentucky; Olive and Lonnie Unruh of Grifton, North Carolina; and Rachel and Tom Unruh of Bowersville, Georgia; 40 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren of the Dyck family; sisters-in-law Rosa Holdeman and Juanita Koehn of Moundridge, Kansas; and Elizabeth Koehn of Macon, Mississippi; and many nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ura J. Yoder and Jona Dyck, son Dwayne Yoder, son-in-law Greg Lee, seven brothers, and six sisters. Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Gospel Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church, Moundridge, KS The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time of service time at the church. Funeral and burial will be in Homeworth, OH at a later date.
