Margaret Jean Rogers

Buhler- Margaret Jean (Johnson ) Rogers, 88, passed over into Jesus’ loving arms Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. Margaret was born Jan 13, 1926 at Ellis, Kansas, to Paul M. Johnson Sr. and Hazel Luella (White ) Johnson. She graduated from Ellis High School in 1943. Margaret moved to Denver, CO in 1945 to attend nursing school, she graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 with her RN degree. While attending nursing school, she met the love of her life, Guy E. Rogers, they married at his parents home at Denver, CO, October 3, 1947. To this union were born three children, Bonnie Jean, David Allen and Elizabeth Ann. She and Guy made their home in Aurora, CO until 1994. Margaret worked in ICU and CCU units of Mercy Hospital and General Rose Hospital, in Denver, CO. She was active at both First Presbyterian Church and Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church. It was at Faith Church that she and Guy asked Jesus into their hearts. Margaret was also active in her children’s years of Scouting and school’s PTA, she loved to sew, knit, and garden. July 23, 1994 Margaret and Guy moved to Buhler, KS to be close to family and made their home at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. Guy went to Heaven August 25, 1995. Also welcoming her to Heaven: Her parents, Paul and Hazel Johnson; brothers, Raymond Johnson, Paul Johnson Jr.; daughter, Bonnie Rogers - Neff. Survivors in this life are: Sister, Clara B. Johnson of Sun City, CA; Son -in-Law, Daniel Neff of Colorado Springs, CO; Son & Daughter-in-Law, David and Judy Rogers of El Paso, TX; Daughter and Son-in-Law Elizabeth (Liz) & J.C. Keith of Buhler, KS. Ten grandchildren, Colin Neff and Cody Neff of Ft. Collins, CO; Paul & Kalyani (Rogers) Dzelzgalvis of Centreville, VA; Kassidy Rogers of Phoenix, AZ; Sarah (Keith) Orem of Buhler, KS; Marvin and Joanna (Keith ) Hicks of Wichita, KS; Josh and Rachel ( Keith ) Neiman of Topeka, KS. Ten Great Grandchildren, Dalton, Marissa and Dakota Orem of Buhler, KS; Jalen and Brendan Hicks and Kobe Vlach of Wichita, KS; Nathan, Nolan, Natalyn & Nevin Throckmorton of El Paso, TX. A private family gathering to celebrate Margaret’s life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community or Good Shepherd Hospice of Newton, KS in care of Buhler Mortuary
