Lillian Rose (Kaiser) Davidson

Lillian Rose (Kaiser) Davidson, 97, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home with family by her side. Lillian was born in rural Munjor, Kansas on June 10, 1927, the daughter of Fidelis J. and Margaret (Leiker) Pfannenstiel. Lillian attended and graduated from a country school in Gove County, Kansas. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society in McPherson. Lillian was a homemaker who took great pride in providing for her family. As a widowed mother at the age of 38 with six children to raise, she waitressed at various restaurants in McPherson through the years until she retired at the age of 78 in September of 2006. She was a devout Catholic and a loving, hardworking wife and mother, dedicated to her family and church. Lillian was a talented seamstress making her own and all the girls clothing when they were young, and as her daughters grew into young women would even make their Homecoming and Prom dresses, always in the latest fashion. Dancing at The Cotillion in Wichita on Friday nights was a favorite past-time she never missed. As she grew older, quilting and needlework became a special pastime. She played Pinochle in her younger days but was a “serious” Skip-Bo player in her later years. As a talented cook she enjoyed nothing more than cooking for her family, when they came home to visit. Lillian was united in marriage to Peter Joseph Kaiser on February 5, 1946, in Park, Kansas and they made their home in McPherson where they started their family. Pete died on February 19, 1966. She later married LeRoy Davidson on June 3, 1978, LeRoy died on January 12, 1997. She is survived by her children, Judy (John) Lee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Vickie Covington of Austin, Texas, Anita (Bruce) Penn of Wheaton, Illinois, Ronnie (Janet) Kaiser of Bethel, Alaska and Lisa Crough of McPherson; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter Cindy Kaiser; sisters Aggie Herman, Betty Reitmayer; brothers Fritz, Walter, Elmer, Alex, Jake, Jimmy, Robert, and Butch Pfannenstiel; 3 grandchildren, Travis Lee and twins Sarah and Carolyn Covington; sons-in-law John Covington and Curtis Crough. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in McPherson with a Rosary service to follow at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am, Monday, November 4, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Kerschen officiating. Her final resting place will be McPherson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorials may be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 West Euclid Street, McPherson, Kansas 67460.
