Hunter Dennis Emerson

Hunter Dennis Emerson, 21, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born October 7, 1999, in Newton, Kansas, the son of Patrick J. and Paula M. (Stika) Emerson. His life began in Marion, Kansas where he attended school through first grade. He then continued his schooling in Moundridge, Kansas. During high school, Hunter worked for Kaufman Dairy and Moundridge Communication Network. He was involved in football, wrestling, and baseball. He graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 2018. Hunter was able to follow his dream and graduated from Pratt Community College with an Electrical Powerline Technology degree in 2020. He currently was an apprentice lineman for Evergy. Hunter lived for ATV riding and had a passion and talent for modifying his machines to satisfy his need for speed. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and dog, Buddy. He was known for being very sociable and quick-witted. Anybody that knew Hunter knew that he would do anything to help anybody. You couldn’t find a more loyal friend. He loved being outdoors; spending time at the lake, where he would go boating and wakeboarding. Hunter enjoyed being in the shop with his dad, his greatest pride being the shuffleboard table that he built for him. Hunter is loved and will be deeply missed by his parents, Pat and Paula Emerson of Moundridge; brother, Matthew Levi (Katelyn) Emerson of Overland Park; sister, Elly Emerson of Moundridge; maternal grandfather, LaVerne Stika, Sr. of Herington; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wallace M. and Mary E. (Black) Emerson; and maternal grandmother, Ella Mae (Tajchman) Stika. Cremation is planned. A public memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, 1200 E Kansas Avenue, McPherson, KS 67460. The service will be live streamed at the following link - https://www.mcphersonfumc.com/worshiponline/. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
