Terry Lee Jarvis

Terry Lee Jarvis, 61, of McPherson, Kansas, died at 8:29 a.m., Saturday, November 15th, due to an automobile accident, at McPherson Hospital. Terry was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 3, 1953, a son of Mildred Anne (Cart) Jarvis and Marion Claude Jarvis.Terry attended the Lincoln grade school, Park School, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1971.Through the years Terry worked for W.R. Mill as a millwright, Kit Manufacturing, owner and operator of T.J's Upholstery, Pyle Construction Company as a carpenter, maintenance man for Plains Plastics, for Peters Lumber Company as a carpenter, owner and operator of Jarvis Building and Remodeling, carpenter for A and A Builders and was currently working for MJ's Truck Repair of Moundridge, Kansas. Terry enjoyed being with his children, being outdoors with nature, tinkering with wood, metal, was a good carpenter and very artistic using almost anything as his medium. He also enjoyed target shooting or plinking, with his sons, and playing with his grandchildren. He loved snuggling with Toes!!! and debating with family or anyone unfortunate enough to be his victim. Terry L. Jarvis was united in marriage to Lucinda 'Cindy' Marie May on January 5, 1996 at McPherson, Kansas. He is survived by his wife Cindy Jarvis, of McPherson, Kansas; his sons, Dustan Jarvis and his wife Joanna, of Newton, Kansas, Christopher Jarvis and his wife Kim, of Moundridge, Kansas and Matthew Jarvis and his wife Kelli, of Moundridge, Kansas; his step children, Ginger Otipoby, wife of Luke Shelley, of Wichita, Kansas and Jonas Otipoby and his wife Julie, of Liberty Hill, Texas; his sisters, Kathleen Hanes, of Moundridge, Kansas and Jacqueline Tipton and her husband Mike, of McPherson, Kansas; 19 grandchildren, Samantha, Riley, Stephanie, Sophia, Justin, Wesley, Brandon, Maria, Jaedyn, David, Shelby, Harley, Hunter, Raven, Jacob, Christopher, Logan, Grace, Lilith; other relatives and a host of friends.Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Claude Jarvis and Mildred Anne Cart Jarvis-Thurston; a brother, Alan Scott Jarvis; a step-son Daniel James 'Danny' Otipoby.The memorial service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 with Reverend H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Transplant and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
